Any translucent stone works great. Our custom LED Panels are typically used to back light the following stones (pictures included)
- Onyx: White Onyx, Honey Onyx, or Green Onyx (green or jade onyx is the most opaque, so its the least popular to back-light)
- Cristallo (Quartzite): This is the most popular type of stone to back-light using our LED panels, it can either be very white, or have have colored veining.
- Quartz: White, Smokey, or Rose. There are many different types of quartz available, this material usually requires additional diffusion. Your dedicated project manager can discuss that with you if you decide to move forward with an order.
- Agate: Available in Brown, Blue, or Green. Agate is popular, but also one of the most expensive stones that can be back-lit using our Custom LED Panels.
- Patagonia Quartzite: This material has large opaque areas that are filled with translucent quartzite veining. When back-lit using LED Panels, you'll have many areas where the light wont passthrough contrasting with bright streaks of light passing through in translucent areas.
